SNOW DAY

We are having a snow day! Everyone enjoy the day and I will see you on Tuesday!

February Chatterbox

February is here and LOVE is definitely in the air. Our little ones are growing up too fast and I have told them and told them that they can not have boy friends and girl friends till they get out of college and get a job. ANND no kissing till they get married! Hopefully the icky germs and cooties talk will keep them young for a little longer. We have been having a great time and this week your children might have been coming home talking "Cowboy talk". Our first unit this month is "Cowboys". And they have LOVED it so far. Everyone wants a horse and to dress up  like a cowboy. Next week we will get a head start on Valentine's Day and finding out why we have it. We will be having a Valentines Party and we will ask the children to bring 13 Valentines to share with their class mates. There is nothing sweeter then when the children get to open their Valentines! {Please  let them sign their own name on the Valentines so that they get extra practice and they can say they did it themselves.  They are so proud and I am sure they will show us! We will talk about Dental health the week of Valentine's Day. And have a celebration of our 100 day at school on Wednesday the 15th. Library Liz will be here on the 16th and we will have Spanish Class on the 17th. The week of the 19th we will be talking about some famous Americans. Then on the week of the 27th we will be Rock and Rolling to celebrate our Festival of Friends. That will be on the night of March 1. {Be sure and make reservations} Then on March 2 we will have a teacher's workday so we can rest after having so much fun! I hope your children are talking about what they are doing and they can't wait to come to school in the morning. The children are really learning a lot and Beckye and I are very proud of each and every one. Thank-you for letting us be part of their lives!

January Chatterbox

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone got some rest after a busy holiday. I was so excited that the children came in smiling and rushing to tell us about their new toys. We even had one that had a dance and song to go with his new toy. How we love children, who can make something so small into something so magical. 

As we welcome January with its cold blustery weather, we will be looking at our own winter wonderland in the class room. Our themes this month are snowmen, Penguins, and polar bears, Dinosaurs, and lots of review.  The children are up to the letter "N" right now and are working really hard on the sounds that they make. Baby Grand is on Jan 5 Thursday, Library Liz is Jan 9, Monday, January 16 we will be closed for Martin Luther King Day, January 17 is Parent Teacher conferences, January 18 Wednesday we have Creature Teacher and Child Enrichment Registration. (If you are registering for next year or have a sibling please register on this date. Our classes are expected to be full and it is first come first serve. ] January 20, Friday Spanish class. January 25 open registration for non enrolled parents. January 27,  Friday School wide wear black and white day. Our bible verse this month is" Help those who are weak" 1 Thessalonians 5:24

I sent home a note today about conferences. I know that many of you work and I will gladly try to help in any way I can. We are excited to share what your children are learning and we hope that they are showing you at home already. If your child was not there today , They will receive it tomorrow. If you do not get one, let me know. As always Thank-you for sharing your children with us.

December Chatterbox

December is such a great month to be teaching! I love to tell the children the true meaning of Christmas. I then love to listen to them reenacting the story on the carpet. All the girls want to be Mary and the boys Joseph. Then we have the ones that lay down in a tiny box and pretend that they are baby Jesus. Let me tell you,  for some reason that little box becomes awfully popular and then everyone at one time wants to get in there. Of course Beckye and I have to explain that in the story there is only one baby Jesus but we can act like Jesus and take turns. So they regroup and start again. Mary, in our class version definitely tells poor Joseph everything to do, and poor Joseph is always willing. And for some reason they keep adding kitty cats to the script, so there is a lot of meowing.Oh how we love Christmas!
Our little elves have started making lovely things to take home. We hope you are unwrapping so that you can enjoy them as long as possible. We will keep crafting and sending till we run out of time. There is just too many cute things to make!
We are also dashing! We are dashing to Target tomorrow to buy gifts for our 2 children. The children have worked really hard and we know we will make 2 children very happy! The children raised $111.05. We will keep you posted on what we got. Thank-you for all your help!
Reminders.
Dec 5- Shopping at Target
Dec 9- Child Enrichment closes at 11:00 for Staff Party
Dec 14- Breakfast with Santa. Have kids wear their P.J.'s to school. Yes even the teachers will have theirs on.
Dec 15- Class Party
Dec 16 -Spanish class and last day of school for Christmas  Break!

To close, I have to say Thanks for letting Beckye and I teach your children. Children are truly a gift from God and I treasure each one. Thank-you for letting us be part of their lives.

October Chatterbox

We have been in school for a month! Your little ones are adjusting really well to the 4 year old class. They are learning our routine at school and they are working really hard. We are learning to use our listening ears so that we can follow directions. Playing" Simon says" has been a good trick and can be played at home. Ms Beckye and I have really enjoyed learning about your children and our hearts keep growing knowing more about them every day.

October is here and we have a lot of fun things on the calender. Our bible verse is" Never stop praying." 1st Thesselonians 5:17. Color Orange, Shape Rectangle. We will be heading out to the pumpkin patch in Jamestown{ looking for the Great Pumpkin}this month. I will get you details ASAP. ANNNd the Fire Truck is coming! Then we will end the month with our school wide Trick or Treat. We will make our own costume so your children will not have to dress up.

Open House

Welcome! Beckye and I are looking forward to meeting you! Our Open House is on September1, Thursday at 10:00-11:00.  We have been putting the finishing touches on our new class room. I am sure you will agree that it is bright and cheery. Your little ones are going to love it here!
  When you come in,  you will pick up a folder with lots if information. These will also have a field trip slip. Please send these forms in ASAP .  Our first field trip is scheduled for Sept 14( We are going to the apple orchard) So we want everyone to be able to go! 
We will also have sign up sheets for different things. Please make sure you check the paper with your telephone # and address on it. Also I will ask you for an emergency # and a telephone # for your child to learn.  There will be a lot of parents at our Open House, so if you have a question that I was not able to answer, please e-mail me or telephone. You are very important to us. 

Everyone should get a calendar with what is happening in our class. Please post it where you will see it. The children get upset if they don't have their Show & Tell or know when it is PJ Day. I will also put reminders of special events on our blog. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with lots of fun! Our goal is to have your child love school and we will love them and make learning fun!

 Sometimes we get messy, spill or have small accidents and we will be able to change. Thanks!
